Plus Size modeling and info to help you get started
Have you ever wanted to get into modeling, but had no idea where to start? Don't know what them little words in the ( ) mean. Well I can help you. Read on and see how you can get yourself started in a beautiful and exciting new career. Just a few secrets and know hows and your on your way.
First you will need a nice portfolio, now Models pay $1000's to get one of these when they Start out, because they don't know better.. But here is a trick for you to get one for free. Look for local photographers looking for models to work with, make sure in their ad it says they are looking to work for T/F/P or P/F/T, this Stands for Time For Print or Print For Time. What this means is they are looking to get new pictures for their portfolios. You e-mail them and ask if they work with plus size women. If they e-mail you back and say yes, ( " I find most of the time they do e-mail you back because they want all kinds of new looks " ) then you can get all the details on where to meet. You should never go alone, bring a friend and meet for the first time in a public place. If just to get the feel for the person, a women can NEVER be to careful.
Now because they are looking for T/F/P or P/F/T it Doesn't matter if you have never modeled before. Its great for getting used to being in front of the camera. T/F/P or P/F/T Time For Print / Print For Time: Means you don't have to pay anything and they wont pay you. In return for your modeling for Them, you get to keep all the pictures taken of you. Either on a CD for your computer or they will just e-mail them to you! You will have to let them use your pictures in their online and off line portfolio so make sure you don't do anything you don't want a lot of people To see. Its a good thing a lot of times they have an online portfolio and they will put your pictures on there and other people all around the world will see it. Its a great way to get noticed.
So look on line for local photographers looking for models see if any of them have T/F/P or P/F/T listed. Then e-mail them and ask what I told you to ask :0). Some great sites that are free for models are Onemodelplace.com and musecube.com. When you have some nice pictures get an account on both of them and set up an online portfolio, from there look around some more for local photographers to do more work. After awhile you will be a natural in front of the cam, if your not already and You can move up to paid shoots.
There are a lot of sites for plus size models! In most sites they have a place listed of photographers. Do a local search on lots of different sites, gather up lots of e-mail address of the photographers that have T/F/P or P/F/T listed on their page or in any they have listed. After that, e-mail each one and ask if they work with plus size women. Tell them you are just starting out and would love to get some nice pictures to put together a portfolio. Make sure you send two nice pictures of you that you already have. They don't have to be professional Just clear. One nice face shot ( meaning up close, let them see your eyes, mouth, teeth, nose and hair. ) and one body Shot ( Head to toe full shot. Make sure you were something that fits well. ) so they know what they will be working with. If you can't find any local photographers get a friend to take some nice pictures of you outside to start a portfolio to list on the sites I named up above. Take the pictures outside or some where with nice backgrounds, No group shots And NO bathrooms or boyfriends in the shot. Just because your friend is not a professional photographer does not mean that the picture can't look like its been taken professionally, so keep that in mind when taking the shots.
